Alloy C276 is an alloy comprised of low amounts of carbon, nickel, molybdenum, and chromium with the inclusion of tungsten, specially developed to boast unparalleled corrosion resistance in an extensive variety of challenging surroundings. This material provides exceptional resistance to both pitting and crevice corrosion in the presence of chlorides and also demonstrates impressive resilience against general corrosion and stress corrosion cracking (SCC).

Utilized extensively in some of the harshest environments, including but not limited to chemical processing, pollution control, pulp and paper manufacturing, and industrial and municipal waste treatment, as well as for the retrieval of sour natural gas.

We offer C276 grade Seamless and welded pipes that are highly resistant to corrosion, available in standard lengths of 17′ to 24′ as well as custom cut-to-length pieces. They come in a wide range of wall thicknesses, from schedule 10 to schedule XXH. We are able to fulfill your specific requirements for pipe sizes, whether it be larger or smaller outer diameters or varying wall thicknesses. We also offer additional processing options such as drilling, boring, milling, and threading to further meet your needs.

C276 allows for fabrication through cold working processes such as bending and cold drawing. However, it is important to avoid excessive cold working and perform these processes while the material is in the annealed condition. Intermediate annealing may be necessary to ensure optimal results. After cold working, it is recommended to anneal this grade depending on its intended use. Unlike type 316 and other similar steels, cold working does not increase its magnetic permeability.
