The ASTM A333 standard governs both seamless and welded steel pipes suitable for use in low-temperature applications and other challenging environments that demand exceptional notch toughness.
The ASTM A333 standard defines the criteria for carbon steel piping that is suitable for low-temperature use, including the use of LTCS alloy. The A333 Carbon Steel Low temperature tube, as specified by ASTM, possesses favorable tensile properties combined with commendable hardness. While its corrosion resistance properties may be less than ideal, they can be enhanced through the application of specific surface treatments.
A333 Grade 6 Pipe is a type of carbon steel pipe that falls under the jurisdiction of ASTM, ASME, and API. The A333 pipe series encompasses grades 1 to 11 and has a range of sizes available, from ½ inch up to 36 inches in diameter. The pipe boasts a wide range of wall thickness options from 3mm to 12mm, with multiple schedules including sch40, sch80, and up to XX available.

Heat Treatment Requirements:
All seamless and welded pipe shall be treated to control their microstructure by the following methods: Normalizing per A 333/A 333M-05 section 4.3.1.1; section 4.3.1.2 or section 4.3.1.3 Quenched and Tempered per A 333/A 333M–05 section 4.3.2.1 Double Normalized and Tempered per A 333/A 333M–05 section 4.3.2.2.
Packing:
Bare packing/ bundle packing/ crate packing/ wooden protection at the both sides of tubes and suitably protected for sea-worthly delivery or as requested.
Inspection and Test: Chemical Composition Inspection, Mechanical Properties Test (Tensile Strength, Yield Strength, Elongation, Flaring, Flattening, Bending, Hardness, Impact Test), Surface and Dimension Test, No-destructive Test, Hydrostatic Test.
Surface Treatment: Oil-dip, Varnish, Passivation, Phosphating, Shot Blasting.
