Product Introduction
S32760 Pipe
UNS S32760, commonly known as F55, is a highly desirable stainless steel grade due to its exceptional ability to resist corrosion in a diverse array of environments, including those rich in chloride such as seawater. Its unparalleled resistance to both pitting and crevice corrosion, coupled with a critical pitting temperature exceeding 50°C (122°F), make it a top choice for use in harsh and demanding applications. Stainless steel grade F55 is recognized for its outstanding strength and extended lifespan. Not only is it 10% lighter than grade 316 steel, but it’s also an excellent option for sub-zero service and an economical alternative to nickel alloys. F55 stainless steel is highly machinable and weldable.
UNS S32760 is a powerful solution for harsh environments due to its high strength and resistance to corrosion. With a combination of chromium, nickel, molybdenum, copper, tungsten, and nitrogen, this super duplex stainless steel boasts a PREN value that outperforms most other alloys. This makes it highly effective for use in aggressive settings that require optimal performance
UNS S32760 boasts a unique ferritic-austenitic microstructure, with approximately 40-50% ferrite in its annealed state. This distinctive microstructure offers the high strength characteristic of ferritic grades, combined with the exceptional corrosion resistance of austenitic grades, rendering it a superior choice for demanding applications. Due to its exceptional resistance to chloride-induced stress cracking, it is becoming increasingly common to utilize UNS S32760 as an effective solution to this prominent issue, which has long been considered the Achilles’heel of stainless steel.
It also displays exceptional resistance against sulphone-stress corrosion cracking when exposed to harsh sour-gas environments.
UNS S32760 is renowned for its remarkable impact strength and absence of a ductile-brittle transition, with only a minor decrease in impact energy observed as temperature decreases. Furthermore, when subjected to welding processes, UNS S32760 exhibits only a slight reduction in impact strength.
